Choose a rug - what should you pay attention to?
When sorting out a rug, there are a number of points to pay attention:

Tip: Before you buy a rug, you can mark the proposed dimensions with painter tape on the floor. This gives you a visual idea of what the rug will look like in space. Don't have a painter tape? No problem! You can also put down newspapers to determine the size.
Rug in the living room
The most common place to place rugs is the living room. In a living room or sitting area that is large, there is a common rule of thumb to place the front legs of the couch on the rug. The rug connects all furniture in this way. This way you create peace, atmosphere and unity in the living room.
There are a huge number of sizes available. But how big should a rug under a bank actually be? Measure the couch in advance and add about 30-40 centimeters, so that the rug protrudes the rug 15-20 cm on both sides of the sofa. You also place the rug around 15-20 cm under the couch, with the front legs on the rug. With a two -seater sofa, there are usually rugs of 200x140 or 230x160 centimeters of good options. Do you have a three -seater sofa? Then the sizes 240x170 and 300 x 200 centimeters often meet.
In a smaller room you can choose not to place the legs on the rug and to retain 20 centimeters between the couch and the rug. In this way the whole looks spatial and less crammed. A rug too big makes a room look smaller and will dominate too much.
It is therefore important that you always look at the size of the bank and then look for a rug that is slightly larger than the bank. Never choose a rug that is smaller than the bank.

Different materials
Cotton, coconut, sisal and woolen rugs are all made of natural materials. You also have synthetic rugs of plastic and polyester. The function and style determines the choice of materials.
A woolen rug is the most popular. This material is easy to maintain because wool fiber does not put on dirt. This keeps the rug beautiful and fresh in color for a long time. A disadvantage of a woolen rug is that it can be quite a bit.
Don't you like wool or can't you stand it? Then a cotton rug is a good alternative. A cotton rug is a child -friendly option and is often chosen for the nursery. You can easily wash this material and it is for sale for a good price. This allows you to easily replace it again with a new one when you have looked out.
A plastic rug is ideal for people with a dust allergy. These rugs do not absorb dust, making them easy to clean. An additional advantage is that you can also put a plastic carpet outside, very nicely under the picnic table.
